It's been years since the Francis Francis X1 I once bought on a discount broke down, again. Ever since I had bought it, it had not been functioning without defects for more than half a year in a row. It had been repaired twice already, and after it breaking for a third time, I decided not to have it repaired again. However, coffeelover I am and thus some sort of replacement had to be arranged. For a while, money didn't allow more than a French press for regular coffee and a Bialetti stovetop espresso-maker for the more espresso-like coffees. The wish to once more have an espresso machine grew stronger by the week, however, amplified by the corpse of the X1 sitting on top of the kitchen cabinets.
